Putin puts Russia’s nuclear weapons on excessive alert – BBC Data

The Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered his nation’s strategic nuclear forces to excessive alert, as the Ukraine crisis escalates.

He suggested defence chiefs it was as soon as thanks to “aggressive statements” by the West, amid widespread condemnation of his invasion of Ukraine. The announcement would not suggest Russia intends to exhaust the weapons.

The US straight condemned his decision calling it an “unacceptable escalation”.

Currently Mr Putin had warned that “whoever tries to hinder us” in Ukraine would watch penalties “you accumulate gotten never considered for your history”. These words accumulate been broadly interpreted as signalling a menace to exhaust nuclear weapons if the West stood in his system.
